Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; manage inventory and compliance; oversee opening/closing.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, and operational acumen. Key skills include team motivation, financial oversight, conflict resolution, and a passion for pets. Flexible availability is essential.
