Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; review cameras for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
