Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and associate engagement initiatives. Foster an open-door culture and empower teams to succeed.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and respond to concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze financial data, optimize processes, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team development and customer service, proficiency in financial oversight, and a passion for pets. Key skills include conflict resolution, operational efficiency, compliance with policies, and driving associate engagement.
