Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and respond to pet health issues.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, customer service expertise, and financial acumen. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and adaptability to flexible schedules including weekends.
