Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategic goals, and ensure seamless execution of daily business while upholding our vision of 'Anything for Pets.' This full-time role demands strong leadership to foster team success and deliver outstanding results in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, and terminations; build an open-door culture; create schedules; facilitate training, reviews, and succession planning; recognize achievements to boost engagement.
Store Experience
Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety and health; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events; prioritize safety for all.
Business Management
Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; adapt to changes; collaborate with leadership for optimal outcomes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, problem-solving, delegation, and a passion for pets. Experience with P&L, inventory systems, and compliance is essential. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
