Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, performance reviews, scheduling, and associate development. Foster an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process optimization. Passion for pets and customer-centric mindset required.
