Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with leadership team; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and compliance; respond to pet health issues immediately.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, process improvement, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making in fast-paced retail settings.
