Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; foster open communication, deliver reviews, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle concerns, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and oversee openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic environments with flexible scheduling.
