Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; maintain compliance and inventory standards; lead events and community partnerships.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; prioritize safe environments and operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts and passion for pets are essential.
