Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core/Services Walks and camera reviews; oversee openings/closings and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize inventory, communicate objectives, and improve processes for operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, proven team leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, associate engagement, compliance enforcement, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
