Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, monitor inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption partners.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in P&L analysis, and a commitment to customer and pet welfare. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making. Pet industry experience is a plus.
