Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while achieving key results through exemplary leadership, efficient execution, and a focus on exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; monitor cameras for safety; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; prioritize safe environments and compliance.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability to flexible schedules. PetSmart provides training to support your success.
