Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted outcomes through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, and monitor in-store cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, process improvement, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands. Experience with P&L responsibility and community partnerships is a plus.
