Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and events; review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic environments with weekend availability.
