Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient daily execution in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; monitor cameras for compliance; manage openings/closings and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; optimize inventory; communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in fast-paced environments with flexible availability.
