Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Handle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminations. Build an open-door culture, manage scheduling, facilitate reviews, training, onboarding, and succession planning. Delegate effectively, cascade information, and address grievances.
• Store Experience: Ensure safety for people, pets, and parents. Lead pet parent interactions, maintain standards, conduct Core and Services Walks, manage inventory, review cameras for coaching, and handle sick/injured pets.
• Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, execute corporate strategies, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for continuous improvement.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in team motivation, financial oversight, and customer-centric operations. Proficiency in HR practices, safety protocols, and data-driven decision-making is essential.
