Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety; manage openings/closings.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize inventory, and cascade business objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus for our Mayaguez location.

- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends (experience)

- Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies
