Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and all HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by driving company culture, achieving targets, and ensuring exceptional service while maintaining policy compliance and pet welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, review, and develop associates; create schedules; foster open-door culture and high engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, resolve concerns, and maintain a positive environment via monthly walks and process improvements.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, monitor cameras for safety, handle openings/closings, and respond to pet emergencies including vet transport.
- Community & Compliance: Partner on events with adoption groups, uphold policies, and prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years retail management, strong team-building, customer service, and financial skills. Pet industry knowledge preferred. Must excel in delegation, conflict resolution, and adapting to dynamic environments while ensuring compliance and driving results.
