Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; manage inventory and compliance; partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; review security footage for coaching.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, expertise in operations and financials, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, customer service, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability is essential.
