Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results through exceptional service and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, and oversee inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, review security footage for coaching, and lead store openings/closings.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, financial acumen, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands. Pet care knowledge is a plus.
