Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build an open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements and resolve grievances.
• Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; maintain inventory; review cameras for compliance; partner on events and adoptions.
• Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; optimize processes for efficiency.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
