Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety and compliance; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review cameras for coaching; handle sick pets and store procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
