Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume stores, expertise in P&L management, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include team motivation, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Flexible availability is essential.
