Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; foster open-door culture, deliver reviews, recognize achievements, and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain compliance via monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, optimize processes, and partner on events with adoption groups.
- Pet Welfare: Respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet industry knowledge, and expertise in operations, HR, and customer service. Must excel in delegation, feedback, safety protocols, and adapting to dynamic environments. Passion for pets and retail success required.
