Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results, exceptional service, and efficient daily execution in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews for compliance.
- Operations & Finance: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and partner on events like adoption drives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring proven retail leadership, strong people management, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, financial oversight, and fostering high engagement. Experience in pet care, safety protocols, and multi-channel customer service (in-store, phone, online) is essential.
