Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Based in Missouri City, Texas, you'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and associate engagement. Foster an open-door culture, delegate effectively, and celebrate team achievements to build high-performing teams.
Store Experience & Operations
Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review security footage, and prioritize a safe, compliant store. Collaborate on events and community adoption partnerships.
Business Management
Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities for optimal financial outcomes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, P&L experience, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include team motivation, customer service mastery, operational efficiency, and problem-solving under pressure.
