Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safety for people, pets, and parents; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee events and compliance with policies.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute strategies for profitability; maintain inventory; communicate objectives; handle openings/closings and emergency pet care.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in team motivation, customer service, financial oversight, and pet retail knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering engagement in dynamic settings.
