Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, strategies, and vision while delivering exceptional service and achieving key business targets in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage customer interactions, events, and compliance through walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize inventory, and communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, and knowledge of operations or pet care. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, pet-loving environment. Passion for pets and community involvement is a plus.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and drive continuous process improvements
- Foster company culture, associate engagement, and community partnerships
