Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions and community events.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct safety walks and camera reviews, evaluate processes, and enforce policies.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, cascade priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, and expertise in sales driving, HR, and operations. Must excel in communication, delegation, problem-solving, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
