Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, recognize achievements, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions, conduct Core & Services Walks, monitor cameras, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, optimize inventory, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities for operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, financial oversight, and pet safety. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced retail setting. Passion for pets and flexibility for varied shifts are essential.
