Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and recognize associates; handle reviews, grievances, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, communicate objectives, review cameras for safety, and respond to pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, process improvement, compliance enforcement, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Flexible scheduling is essential.
