Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; review cameras for coaching.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption initiatives; handle openings/closings.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer obsession, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands.
