Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and handle pet health issues.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize inventory, and communicate objectives to drive operational efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, and P&L management. Passion for pets, strong decision-making, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience with adoption events and community partnerships is a plus.
