Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks; prioritize safety; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and store procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for team empowerment.
