Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; maintain compliance and inventory standards; lead events and openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; respond to market changes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in operations and customer service, and financial acumen. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and a passion for pets.
