Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, reviews, and engagement; foster an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, maintain inventory, and prioritize a safe environment.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, customer service mastery, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands.

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and maintain inventory levels
- Analyze business metrics, execute corporate strategies, and foster a positive store culture
- Collaborate on events, monitor store cameras, and handle pet health emergencies
