Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, monitor cameras for compliance, and manage events with adoption partners.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics, maintain inventory, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, financial acumen, and customer-centric problem-solving. Experience with inventory systems, safety protocols, and employee development is essential.
