Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values, driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; foster open communication, deliver reviews, and build engagement through recognition and team activities.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and uphold policies.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize inventory, lead events, and collaborate with leadership for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational efficiency, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
