Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and manage associate performance; build an open-door culture; create schedules; facilitate training, onboarding, and succession planning.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; resolve concerns; conduct monthly walks; maintain inventory and compliance; monitor cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational excellence. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
