Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety; maintain compliance with policies.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; optimize inventory; lead events and community partnerships; oversee opening/closing procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, expertise in customer service, operational efficiency, and financial oversight. Passion for pets, flexibility with schedules, and problem-solving prowess are essential. Proficiency in inventory tools, safety protocols, and associate engagement strategies sets you apart.
