Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor cameras for safety; respond to pet health issues; communicate objectives; collaborate with leadership team for efficient outcomes.
Experience & Skills
Seeking proven leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, financial savvy, and passion for customer service. Must excel in delegation, problem-solving, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced retail setting.

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and maintain inventory levels
- Foster company culture through associate engagement, recognition, and development
- Manage store scheduling, events, and community partnerships
- Monitor store cameras, address risks, and ensure pet health & welfare
