Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct compliance walks; manage inventory and events; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and operational excellence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and development, strong customer service focus, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, inventory control, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
