Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and recognize associates; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; address grievances and build open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate on events and adoptions; communicate objectives; respond to changing priorities; prioritize safety and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, financial savvy, and passion for customer service. Must excel in coaching, conflict resolution, and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and manage inventory
- Foster company culture, associate engagement, and development opportunities
- Collaborate on events, community partnerships, and store standards maintenance
- Monitor store cameras, address risks, and handle pet health emergencies
