Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service and efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and via phone; lead safety walks, inventory compliance, and event partnerships.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics, optimize processes, manage opening/closing, and review cameras for accountability.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and sales growth, strong customer service focus, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, financial acumen, compliance expertise, and adaptability to dynamic environments. Flexible scheduling is essential.
