Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies, achieve profitability goals, and collaborate on events like community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational excellence, customer obsession, financial acumen, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Pet industry knowledge is a plus.
