Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted results, and foster exceptional service while ensuring efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for compliance and coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
