Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build an open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements and resolve grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and by phone; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and review cameras for compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions; handle store opening/closing.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring proven retail leadership, strong team-building abilities, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, associate engagement, operational efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability is essential.
