Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and store procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; collaborate on events and improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process optimization, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility for days, nights, and weekends is essential.
