Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted outcomes, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and foster engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies, analyze metrics, optimize processes, review security footage for coaching, and drive profitability.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, financial oversight, and a genuine love for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Flexible availability is essential.
