Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, review security footage for coaching, and collaborate on events and community partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in team development and customer service, and knowledge of pet care. Key skills include financial acumen, operational execution, conflict resolution, and fostering engagement in dynamic settings.
